Nine going on Nineteen

Happy 9th birthday, sweet and sassy Lexington!

Wow, how this year has changed you from a little girl to a petite teenager in training.  You're beginning to look older and we can see more of the young lady you're becoming.

You've become more independent.  When we switched household jobs and you became the manager of dishes, you thrived and were so excited to help organize and reorganize the silverware.  You were gifted a locking journal for Christmas and you love writing down all your thoughts and important information.

It's been a joy to see you become more confident in your schoolwork and to actually enjoy school.  Switching to WyVA has been just what you needed.  You were "Student of the Month" for September and made the Honor Roll for the first semester.  Even though you are virtual, you've made friends and found ways to get involved.  You signed up for the Spelling Bee and we're so excited for you.

You are so creative. You love to make things whether it is constructing out of paper (you've made a backpack and more) or building Lego.  You and Skye still love to play with your Barbie Dreamhouse and dolls.  You are both huge fans of Mini Brands.

You love to watch YouTube and your favorite is Aphmau. You love to sing and practice your recorder. You've taught yourself to do cartwheels and are trying to do handstands and you love to dance.

And boy oh boy, do you love to strike a pose!  You are learning how to do your hair and braid, and were so excited to get the Barbie head for Christmas.  You love picking the perfect outfit. I follow an art teacher on Instagram that I swear is your doppleganger

You love to swim and would be a mermaid if you could.

You are so loving and kind.  You love animals and humans alike.

You and Skye are peas in a pod and bffs for life. One of the sweetest and funniest things you said this year was on the day Skye crashed her bike. You were having a breakdown and told me "I have big feelings, you know. And she's my sister. I should have protected her." Then you went on to get so angry at me because "why aren't you and Daddy more upset about this?" Oh dolly, if we got upset and lost our minds every time Skye got hurt, we'd never be able to keep it together.

I look forward to the next year of discovering more about Lexi, age 9.

I love you to Jesus and back!
Always, Mama
